Dr. Cross has held numerous positions including Deputy Vice Chancellor, Agriculture and Life Sciences, Director of the Food Safety Net with IDEXX Laboratories; Director of the Institute of Food Science and Engineering and the Center for Food Safety at Texas A&M University, Executive Director of the International Meat and Poultry HACCP Alliance, Professor and Head of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University and holder of the E.M. Rosenthal Chair in Animal and Food Science. His work experience includes the position of Administrator of the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.
